Which album is your favorite? I think "My Arms Your Hearse" is when the band really began to hone their "true" sound/style. It is not my favorite but to me that is when the classic Opeth started to take shape.

I'm going to have to say Still Life. It's got a certain indescribable atmosphere to it, although that might just be the nostalgia kicking in, being the album that got me into Opeth.

Blackwater Park easily for me. Also digging the acoustic one alot, was it Damnation ( always mixing that and deliverance ).

my opeth virginity was lost to damnation and deliverance so those two have always been special to me, however, still life is by far their most unique and special album, so my vote goes there.

The top-notch drumming on Ghost Reveries always gets to me, so there.

Tough call, but I voted Blackwater Park. I also favor Ghost Reveries, which got me into Opeth, and Damnation which is damn right beautiful, but I can't listen to it too much since it gets me depressed

Oh, I miss the days of just getting to know them, the sheer excitement of new, awesome music...

Damnation or Still Life!
Still Life is awesome, got me into them in the first place.
And Damnation is just so sublime.

Tough choice. Blackwater Park, Damnation and Ghost Reveries are a 3 way tie for me. Each amazing in it's own right.

I voted for Blackwater Park though. Clean solo -> mostawesomestopethriffofalltime in Bleak tipped the scales.
:agreed:

Blackwater Park for me, especially if we are including the bonus disc with Still Day Beneath the Sun and Patterns in the Ivy II. Blackwater Park was my first Opeth album and holds a special place in my heart. That and it's amazing in its own right.
