I like ebony the best, but only when it's jet black. Natural jet black ebony is pretty much gone. I don't mind it at all when manufacturers dye their ebony boards jet black, but alot of them don't even bother to do that. So now there are tons of guitars out there with streaky imperfect ebony boards. Because of this, I'm a huge proponent of black richlite. 100% jet black and environmentally friendly. Most people can't even tell it's richlite.

If there were 3 identical guitars each with a different fretboard, I'd take maple 9 times out of 10. The other time would be ebony.

Rosewood isn't bad per se, I just find the others a bit more classy.

I prefer Maple on my fretboards, specifically Birdseye Maple, because of the look it completes. It just always goes well with a natural guitar, even bright neon colors. Ebony looks well too, and plays smoothly. I'm not a fan of Rosewood at all. I also have two guitars with stainless steel fretboards, which is different and wonderful.

Birdseye maple for sure. Maple in general i like a lot. Ebony second, rosewood third i guess
