THIS IS NOT MINE!!! so dont give me credit for it. it belongs to Appollyon over on Carvinbbs.com forum. did a quick search and didn't find him here...unless he is under a different name here?

but this guitar sure is beautiful!!!

Appollyon said:
Sorry for the crappy pics, but it was dark and 10 degrees F outside. the color is what I thought it would be: very similar to Cadillac's (which I sell btw) white diamond. The guitar is perfect in every way: pitch, action, setup, etc. The sound is very even through all the registers, but especially shines on the neck pup with the tone down - sustain and a beautiful "warm" sound like Satch's Always With Me... I'm able to get better pinch harmonics than my DC727 (by far) and the low B sounds clear and full even at full gain. Enough of me talking!

Really smart of him to go with the DC700 headstock, looks way better than the weird stock one.

That looks really good, I think carvin needs to do better photo shoots for their instruments because that carved top looks really good here but I never noticed that with their stock photos.

Looks better with the natural body binding. The dark wood offsets stronger with the white finish than light maple would. I doubt they went with a highly figured top, either.

Yup. You can get a plain walnut top or a much more expensive figured walnut top. Obviously you'd be crazy to paint over figured walnut.

Is that a Walnut neck also? Looks great but I would have kept the back with clear gloss. There is actually quite a few CT7 in stock right now, let me see if I can link the photos.

Here is one:

and here is a 2nd:

I totally agree that the DC700 headstock looks 10 times better.

No problem man, for me, the clash between the symmetry of the original headstock & the asymmetrical layout of the string posts is off putting.

That thing is the sex, im iffy on the back of the neck though, those types of finishes always make
me think that it isn't real and that its made out of plastic even though it adds amazing contrast.
I guess i'm starting to get jaded, theres so much fake wood paneling everywhere, arbys even has flamed maple bathroom stalls now

Apollyon is one lucky dude! Looks great!

he has an awesome collection. this is his stuff as well
10413_20121109_194214_2.jpg

1) DC727 - teal, blue, purple, black burst on quilt
2) AC375 - sunset burst edge on spalted maple
3) DC800 - claro walnut on front and back with maple center
4) SH65 - warm brown burst on burl
5) DC800 - clear to umber to brown burst on quilt
In the oven:
6) Bolt Classic - trans red with slight black burst and pearl pickguard
Soon:
7) CT7 - I thought I'd do PRS's "Dragon's Breath" (google it; its gorgeous) on quilt, but I've got two already. Now, I honestly have no clue what I'm going to do.
Eventually:
SH550 - all koa with gold hardware and bigsby. This is my dream guitar, but not sure if/when I can afford it.
So, yeah. Hopefully eight is enough!

you are wondering if the tungoil is real, or that walnut neck is real? or that walnut binding?

its much easier to scrape the binding vs put fake binding on it. plus, you should check out the 'walnut' thread over on the carvinbbs forum. all real walnut guitars
