dear sevenstring community,

i bought myself a focustrite scarlett solo 2nd gen.
it sounds great - but when i switch the light on/off in the room or let the electrical window shade up and down it causes problematic loud pop / crackle noises...

do you know how i can solve this?

this issue was not the case when my monitors were still hooked up to line6 helix or podxt live.

thank you very much! :)

You are using the scarlett connected to a laptop? Could be a grounding problem ... check your electrical installation

it is connected to a mac mini.

what exactly do you mean with grounding problem and how do i solve it?

back in the days with podxt live there were no issues like that.
then with the helix i had no sound issues.
but i sometimes received super small electro-shocks from it. comparable to a static electro-shock that can come from touching another person that is electrostatic.
i hope you know what i mean with electrostatic i am not sure if i use this word correctly.

best regards.

well i wanna buy an audient id14, sounds super good and it has an external power supply so it should help with this crackling problem that i have too.. and also i don't like the sound of the DI with the 2i2 mk2 so i really wanna buy another interface.

audient id14 seems great. thanks for the recommendation.

i will now try the id4 first and hear if it can solve the problem.
if it is not solved i will also try the id14.

How about try a Furman unit first to eliminate the electrical noise.

The AC215 works really well for isolating.

Try running all from the same electrical outlet, do you still get noise? Maybe also try different electrical outlet.

You sure it's not picking up from the guitar?
