By coming home with a lip peircing a couple of weeks from now!

I've been thinking about it for a while, and in the end I just though "Screw it, I'm getting one." Its only about £30 and theres a place about 5 minutes from my college that does piercings and the like. I thought I had to have a note from parents if I was under 18, but apparently here in the UK the legal age is 16

So, have you guys surprised your folks with tattoos/piercings/haircuts? Post pics as well if possible

Ive surprised my parents with alot of things.. Drinking.. Smoking (not just cigarettes) 4 earrings... an undercut. They didnt do shit about it haha. In fact my mom thought the undercut and earrings looked pretty good. the drinking and smoking thing took her a little while to get used to but she got over it my stepdad moved out so no matter what he thinks

Ouch. I hear ya there, though. I had my eyebrow piercing torn out twice before I gave up on it. Sometimes I kind of miss it, but I've got some nasty scar tissue to remind me of it.

I smoke weed and cigarettes on a regular basis and my parents have absolutely no idea. They know I drink outside the house though, and they're cool with that. But if they found out, they'd probably give me every single punishment imaginable. I'm only 16 so thats not a nice thing...

It didn't rip open the whole nostril thankfully, I figure the ring must've bent on it's way out, as only the inside of my nose got torn, but I was bleeding a bit.

On the day I graduated from high school, I went and got 2 piercings. I left them in for about 4-5 years, but then had to get them taken out for a job. I haven't put them in since then and I'm thinking the holes closed up by now, but I'm not sure.

They got infected about a month after I got pierced. It was pretty nasty. Turned red and swelled up and after I moved my ring around in there, it broke open and a bunch of whitish green puss came out. Luckily it healed up really soon. Never got infected after that, thankfully.

yeah, i did. grandmother thought i was suddenly into drugs and drinking, vs the 2 days before when she called me and everything was fine.

parents werent impressed because i didnt tell them.. but the only people who knew were 2 of my freinds outside of school, my buddies at school and my roomies.

my piercing was in for 13 days or so, i was a day away from getting my hoop (i also got my lip pierced). a long talk w/ my uncle on the drive to my grandparents, kinda kieboshing (sp) some plans i was thinking up for the following year..

before i move back for school (since thats waht i ended up deciding on), my best friend and my sister are chipping in on getting it redone. $30 the first time, $60 the second time.. i miss some things about southern ontario . i doubt it will give me the same feeling of self-satisfaction and increased self esteem but whatever, i want my freakin hoop and now i just dont care.

I came home with a tongue ring, and the look on my mother's face was priceless. She didnt believe me at first, and then I showed her the bar and the blood in my mouth and she just about fainted. I said to her, 'hey it was either that or a tattoo', and she just walked away with her mouth open.

Showed up at my parent's house with half my chest done, then half my arm done, then the right half of my back done....pretty much most of the right side of my body inked. My dad about shit his pants, and mom just goes, "I've kinda wanted to get one for awhile..."....Gotta love mom. The day they found me smoking cigarettes was a shock too, not as bad as the tattoos though.
