next thing will be the body, because i got CA glue in some fretslots and i need to think about how to get it out without messing up the binding, before i do frets

Really clean shaping and wenge is such a beautiful wood. Gives me wood ...for wood! Tried a scalpel to get the glue out? Or some sort of solvent?

super clean job.
Stewmac has a tool for cleaning out fretslots... if you've already got a large xacto knife and just buy the blade it's reasonably priced too...
it works okay.. not stellar... but okay...

moving on, body contours are done and luckily i found the chipout and was able to epoxy it in...couldn't testfit the neck though because epoxy is not dry yet

Damn that neck is beautiful! It's amazing how gorgeous something as simple as the contrast of light maple vs dark wenge can be.

How heavy is the wenge neck, say compared to a maple or mahogany neck? I'm trying to decide what woods I want to use for the neck on my next build, but I want to make it as light as possible.

thanks guys :)

neck doesn't feel particularly heavy. Can't go wrong with wenge (as long as it's properly dry)

the 2nd wood in the neck is actually beech :)

I FINALLY got to work on my guitar again. The body is now stained in a burst.

I originally wanted to stain it like this:

But it turned out a bit too orange....still looks cool tho
