The NS-2 is awful with 5150 series amps. I used the ISP Decimator in the loop, and an MXR Smart Gate out front.

Get the ISP Decimator. Mine works wonders in the loop of my VHT; gets rid of all the hiss and hum no matter how much gain I use and how much I boost the amp. It doesn't change the tone at all. It just feels better to play with it, and sounds better (of course). We know it's the best and you know we know it's the best. Get it! :)
