My problem with Nuno is that I always liked his playing more than his band. I've never heard an Extreme song that actually stuck with me as good all the way through.

Not even More Than Words? j/k

I've always loved Nuno's playing, and admittedly that will always be his strongest point. Though he's taken a lot of pride as a songwriter nowadays, especially after his solo albums. Kinda similar to what Paul Gilbert did before Get Out Of My Yard. And he's gotten better at that, as well as a great singer too. If anything, the last Extreme album Sadudes De Rock, shows a lot of that. :yesway:

Also, Nuno has an amazing sense of groove too.

That, and Pornograffitti is an album I still jam to. Solos to Get The Funk Out and He Man Woman Hater are classics. :shred:

the first player that made go "### WHAT THE FUCK!!!???##**!", way back in the days... unfortunately, pretty quick i developed a dislike for his taste in music. as stated above, his playing was always far better than Extreme's songs.

This really. There's some decent riffs here and there and some cool grooves, but for the most part I just can't really sit down and listen to Extreme for any real period of time.
Nuno's an absolutely absurd player though, a true virtuoso that doesn't seem to get brought up enough in discussions of insane guitarists.

Ah, Nuno. First true super-guitar-hero guy I've known in my life. Shy yet kind guy, who embarrassed me by saying I was a fab player. I was 19, and not really into the whole "I rock" mindset, so I was at a loss for words and blushed like a girl.

He's a beast of a player, and I'm always glad to see people praising his work. :)

Nuno is the truth and Extreme have some great songs. Especially the stuff that wasn't on the radio.

wouldn't believe me if i told you he was a close friend would you?

What reason would I have to doubt?

You guys seen him w/ Rhianna? Was watching SNL a bit ago and spat my coffee all over my table when I saw him playing. Took me a min to get my bearings

I fail to see a reason as to why I should doubt your word on that. It's not like it wasn't a friend of his to provide me with the chance to meet the guy in the first place. ;) Haven't seen him in some 12 years now. Heh!

I've seen quite a lot of his stuff with Rihanna and I really like it, he's definately lifting the songs to a higher level (I think she had pretty good material to begin with).
