a friend of mine bought a 7 string rg1527z

It came with ibanez v77 on the neck and v88 on
the bridge however he didnt liked the pups so
after 3 months of using the guitar he switched
them with bareknucle aftermath pups
i am looking forward to build a se7en
and since i cant afford new pups at this point
how much should i shell out for these pups
Thanks

I wouldn't pay anymore than $50 for the V77/V87 set.

Could you clarify what pups you want?

As I assumed you wanted the better ones, the bkp's, and Max thinks you meant the Ibanez ones.
For the love of god, don't buy other Ibanez stock pups, continue saving your money, or just ask your friend if you could buy them cheap off of him.

i am going to spend a major sum of my money on tuners and bridge(you dont change them everyday)
and buy the ibanez pups from him
i am building a cab too so i am very tight on budget
i dont think that i'l be able to buy bkp's before another 10-11 months

I generally give my stock pickups away to anyone needing a set.. But i'm not everyone.

I wouldn't shell out much for a set of stock ibby pickups. They have some of the worst stock pickups i've ever played...

Update
he asked 50$ just for the bridge 88 pickup he cant sell me the 77 because its in his guitar
his reason for that was he odered just the bridge aftermath pup it costs 95 pounds
but he paid 220$ just for the bridge pup because of the duties and shipping charges,he said people get the entire aftermath set under that so what he's asking is resonable considering i live in india

I failed to realize you needed 7 string pickups, I have a set of Carvins around ,but they are 6s. I wager they beat Ibanez stock pickups, and I am not exactly looking to capitalize on them was what I was saying.

Those are next to worthless. I would not pay for than like 15 dollars for both bridge and neck

They really aren't that bad, I used them for a few years. They are not ideal but go play a few for a while, learn to EQ an amp then get back to me. My biggest issue was the harshness/sharpness in the treble. Didn't sound like I wanted when driven and couldn't get it to round out.

Edit: I realize now you may likely have been referring to the Ibanez not the Carvins. whoops.

Yeah I wouldn't pay more than $20 for em. They are basically a throw away set IMO. If I yanked a set of those I wouldn't even bother trying to sell them.

1527 stock pickups = direct install into the trash can. Metal dustbins give a better tone when they hit the bottom.
