my homemade trem stop. it's been working flawlessly for a few years now

set the intonation and adjusted the action a bit.
wiped it clean again and tested it.

if you could see the green on the meter, all is go.

man, this pictoral stuff is a pain in the ass. but the guitar plays great and i think i'm going to love the pickups. they have more mids than the stock ibanez and they still retain definition.
they're a great addition to my blazes,new7s,air nortons,paf pros,tone zone and emgs.
enjoy.

the trem stop is a hanger for a curtain rod. they're like 50 cents. works great. my other guitars are more high tech. brass angled brackets.

that grey and red looks sweet man. cool picstory.
i dont turn because i loosen the string to no tension. About the equivalent of cutting a shoelace ;D

Yeah, i loosen the strings a little, then hold the longest side of the string. That way the short half isnt long enough to whip me in the face, and the side thats long enough to isn't going anywhere.

Neat trem stop idea, though. :yesway:

Looks good dude :yesway: I loosen my strings to no tension, then pinch both sides of where I'm cutting with my left hands, a couple of fingers each side, then trim.

Don't make the mistake of tuning up instead of loosening. I did that once on a 3+3 headstock cos I didn't pay attention. The .010 high E slashed my hand beatuifully when it snapped. If I wasn't holding the neck I might have lost an eye.
