How much did you pay for it? I assume that because you mentioned lazy GC employees you either got a good deal on it or they just took really bad care of it.

There's this one which I think is kind of ugly but still nice. ~

^ that's very red . and, it has 24 frets, so i don't know how magical that neck pickup would sound, versus one on a 22 fret neck.

btw, i updated the first post with some family shots

Sick collection. Do I see an XV500? And is that Tremol-no logo a sticker or just something you Photoshopped in?

You have too many guitars Leon. Now you have no excuse to not let me borrow the Strat. :D

yep, that's an XV500, acquired from The Don. it's a sticker on an RG570 with a T-No. Kevan gave me the sticker to put on the back of the guitar for last year's Jemfest, but i thought it was kinda cool, so i slapped it on the front :)

E, i'll bring it to the astro gig

compared to the plethora of aftermarket sevenstring single coils, i guess they don't sound too bad :). the 'bucker isn't too hot, but full. it's not bad either.

Nice score Leon!

Did they ever make an offical Fender 7 and not just Squier?

Well aside from Toshi's there's a nice Olympic White Fender Strat 7 string with 22 frets, gold hardware and (I think) a maple fretboard on Denmark Street in London. It comes with the original blueprints and another neck blank, but it'll set you back an astronimically scary £25,000.
