Have an 8 or 9 string fretboard made to fit your 7 neck.

Send it to novax > he'll do the Fan Fret install on it.

Install on the 7 neck along with two extra tuners.

Install Pick Up of your choice.

Install Bridge of your choice.

Pocket $4K.
are you fucking nuts?

Yeah, the 9 I might get is around $7500, but I figured that I didn't need everything I had put on my list, so I got it down to around $5300. I think that's perfectly fine price for conklin. And Nick, what do you expect to pay for an 8 string guitar? $500? They're expensive dude. I'd suggest building one yourself if you want to have it cost a lot cheaper.

I haven't had a chance to play a Conklin yet. I'm hoping they're as good as I think they are, and if they are the pricing is 100% legit. You can get some ordinary guitars for $5000 from certain makers.

Thanks Papa Shank! :fever: :drew:

Hey cool! Check out this one => :holy:

I'd like SPERZEL tuners beyond Gotoh -

and....... if I were tossing down that cubic cash
for a 'Turn-Key' - it would be a 10 string.

For anyone who likes Nylon String Guitars:

now, a Bernabe' of this class would set you down for the
coolest $15K.

What the fuck!!! I emailed them for a quote and my 8 was way less complex than yours and mine came to 4600!!!! Those bastards!!!! :scream:

My design was

Mahogany body
sidewinder
ebony board
maple neck
tung oil finish
string thru body with graphtech saddles
1 volume
1 3 way toggle
2 EMG pickups (both cost bout $200 each)
Bolt on neck
schaller tuners

Thats it!!! NO WAY that should be 4600!

But I found a local pro luthier that can do it for 2400. So I think Ill go with him!

The Conklin seems quite reasonable in my book, considering the name, the quality, the woods, and the components. 9 months is an AWESOME lead time for a completely custom guitar.

How about this one: Driskill guitars.
Fantastic build quality, sickening tops/woods, one-piece machined trem system....

Base Price: Somewhere around $5K.
Wait Time: Over 2 years (guys are lining up around the block to get on the list).

....and he only does 6-strings.

AND you can choose AAAA or AAAAA woods.

Warmoth.com might do a custom neck & body > he has a CNC rig > for a bolt on it could come in around 12 to 14oo.

No 8 strings will be coming out of there. Only 6s and 7s.

I don't care who started it. End the bickering/fighting/namecalling now or bannings will be frivolously handed out.

Thanks.

Ok asshole. I emailed Bill Conklin DIRECTLY!!!!!! He quoted me that much. I know about that price list.

lol, I was just joking dude... don't flip out. Thought you would like to see that. I was just raggin on ya. From there, you can view all the woods and what you would like on it, and see the price they charge. If you gave Bill the specs, he may have manipulated it a bit, or misunderstood, or something... and added it up differently. The base price is still going to be around $3500 for the basics... (i think it's that much)

When saying something jokingly, you are obligated to add a smilie afterwards. Doesn't matter what you say, you can type up someones address and say you are going to come by at 8pm and cut them open. If you add a smilie, it's all good :agreed:

And why the fuck is the ban icon a deodorant stick? Come on people, get like a gun or some kind of weapon or some shit. Something to scare people like decapitation or non-alcoholic beer.
