I was browsing on this forum a while ago, and I kept coming across people refering to the band "Meshuggah"

So today, I decided to see what all the hype was about. and listened to New Millenium Cyanide Christ and a couple of other songs.

WHOA!!!!!!!!!

And I thought Metallica and Megadeth could riff.......

Thanks sevenstring.org!

Any other bands similar to Meshuggah that I should listen to?

I'm not sure if these bands would qualify as technical metal but Textures and Caprofago both sound similar to Meshuggah, you might wanna check them both out.

Definatly find some Nevermore. Anything by them is awesome. For some sevenstring goodness check out the 'enemies of reality' album. Dream theater is also worth checking out if you havent heard any of their stuff. 'Scenes from a memory' is probably my favorit album ever.

And as DR said, Cynic. They are brilliant!
Bands like megadeth and metallica are just the surface of metal tho. (I love Megadeth btw!)

Twisted INto Form is another badass band with members from Spiral Architect.
I also suggest checking out Arsis for badass riffage

I'm surprised that no-one has mentioned Death and Control Denied yet...

Yeah, Meshuggah are awesome! :yesway:

Check out:
Anata (their album Under A stone With No Inscription has killer riffage. Especially the song "A Problem Yet To Be Solved")
Psycroptic
Cannibal Corpse's album The Wretched Spawn

i'm thinkin technical metal is more of a rythmic type of metal like meshuggah, i dont think alot of the bands named really fall into that catagory
