this one is all maple, wut up with dat g? nah seriously, i always liked the GNs cuz they had the 3pc maple/bubinga necks with the skunk stripe, so whats up with this one?

I have a black 1999 7620 and it is all maple (no bubinga stripe).

no not all of the 7620's had the stripes, mine doesnt, its a 99 7620GN.
looks just like the one pictured.

Not quite - the 7420's actually have 7620 necks. Or, more accurately, there's no difference between the two necks during the years they were both produced.

You see a lot of auctions for "7420's with 7620 necks" like it's some sort of upgrade, because the neck was stamped 7620. That's a little misleading; they just produced a single RG7 neck and used it for both guitars.

...and every time I see a picture of a 7620GN I want one.
