I want a 7-string guitar with a 'rock' look - any suggestions on make/model?

Hi guys,

I play in a down-tuned sludgey-djent band with as much influence from Sabbath as Meshuggah and I want a guitar to match. I used to play an Ibanez 7-string years ago but ideally I'm going for a 'rock' look, so therefore les paul/SG/telecaster shape, with no locking-nuts/whammy bar, but all while retaining that modern 'bite' with decent pick-ups and a smooth neck...

I've seen a few ESP models that look quite cool, but not really sure.

Any suggestions?

The ARZ307 is what came to mind for me.

Depends on your price range but there's the 7 string explorer or flying V from Gibson. Or the Steph Carpenter tele.

Schecter Chris Garza comes to mind as well.

Do you use your high strings a lot? Because if you don't, then I'd suggest just not getting a 7 string and getting the Fender Baritone Tele. Perfect for detuning and heavy riffing. But you're missing the high string and two frets.

Both have EMGs though, which can be a great thing if you like actives, but its a bit of a bummer if you prefer passive pickups.
