While there are "bigger and better" guitars out there, the SC-207 isn't really one. It's pretty much going to be par with the RG7321 as far as quality of build and hardware goes.

If you're looking to upgrade, save up a little more are aim a bit higher, such as an SC607, or perhaps a used RG7621. Both of those go for around $400 on the used market, and WILL be a marked improvement.

Don't remember finding you the best deal was my job, but hey, it is simple.

Ibanez RG7:

Nice Ibanez 7 String electric guitar RG7420 w/case - eBay (item 200463294824 end time Apr-24-10 13:15:02 PDT)
Ibanez 7621 White 7 string 1998 - eBay (item 220593791245 end time Apr-28-10 17:48:30 PDT)
NICE IBANEZ ELECTRC 7 STRING GUITAR, RG7620 w/CASE - eBay (item 200463199764 end time Apr-24-10 09:14:44 PDT)
Ibanez Solid Body 7 String RG Guitar DEFTONES SIGNED - eBay (item 370368002572 end time Apr-26-10 19:30:10 PDT)

I couldn't find any SC's at the moment, but they do pop up. Just search a little bit.

In the end get whatever guitar makes you happy. ;)

It's basically the same as your RG7321 (exact same neck), but with an improved bridge, and Mahogany body.

From what I hear the pickups aren't very good though.

If Mahogany is more your thing, you'd probably really like it.

You should really go to a shop and try out as many guitars as possible, whether they're 7s or not. Try to find the ones you like the most as far as playing comfort and tone, and see what specs they have. It's really the best way to find the guitar that's right for you.

isnt the sc-207 a ltd?

Sure is.

I don't know about anyone else, but am I the only one that gets a little peeved when people call an LTD an ESP, or calling an Epiphone a Gibson. I see it on CL all the time.

I guess it's just a goofy pet peeve.

From my personal experience, Ibanez guitars tend to FEEL better than their LTD counterparts in the same price range. I'd advise you to go for the Ibanez, but only if you can't look for a higher-end Ibanez/ESP guitar.

Also, shouldn't this thread be moved to the Seven String Guitars section?
