So this is just Piezo, right? No Hexpander preamp?

Badass, whatever the case. Shotgunn is the man. :yesway:

Hi synrgy, it's just piezo for now and by the way this is my own handmade mod (i don't use cnc machine or anything like that).

I didn't pay enough attention. Just saw Shotgunn posting and assumed he was behind this one. ;)

Well done, sir. Count me jealous. :yesway:

Not bad, considering it was done manually. How high do the strings sit now? I ask because on mine they were considerably higher than before, but also much lower than yours.

I also had to route a new bridge cavity... Deeper and further away from the nut. I don't imagine this stays in tune very well. Let me know...

Thanx,

shotgunn

The string are 1mm higher, but i compensate lowering the bridge.

at the 14 fret: the e string are 1.5mm and Low B string are 2.6mm with PERFECT INTONATION. i don't have problems with the tunning and/or intonation:shred:. BTW Maybe you need to check your work!

...let me know if i can help you.

That's not at all possible. The inserts themselves are .250" tall. The saddles are .423" (if memory serves me correctly...) Based on your pics I can clearly see that the inserts have raised the action considerably. Much more than 1mm I would say. I had GraphTech custom make me some 'lo profile' inserts (shorter). Even with that the action increased more than 1mm.

When I lowered the bridge to compensate the trem was useless. This is because the bridge was bottoming out on the body itself. As for perfect intonation, maybe on the first 5 maybe 6 strings, but definitely not the Low B. It simply isn't possible, the scale length has been altered. The saddles in their natural state do not offer enough room to compensate for the shifted string break point on the Low B string.

Trying not take offense, but I did check my work. That is why it took me nearly 9 months to complete. Each time I thought I was finished another can of worms was opened. Not at all due to an error on my part just a consequence of the complexity of this type of mod. Not to mention all the crap that hit the fan in my personal while performing this mod...

Check out my thread with pics of my work...

It also seems that the inserts on your bridge may be loosely fitting. If this is the case, you will certainly have tuning issues after and during trem use. The inserts need to be mounted rigidly.

Just out of curiosity what type of tools did you use to achieve this?

Sorry man, I tend to get a little defensive about my work... Often times a bit childish too. It's like my baby or something.
