Plays With Wood!
It's awesome to have a ton of cool gear but if you suddenly had to downsize to just one rig what would it be?
I'm trying to help out a friend in choosing something for his son. The kid is good and has tendancies toward heavier things but will also need to be able to get a good clean sound.
So here's what I'm thinking as far as features:
At least two channels, three would be better
Capable of killer high gain
Capable of producing shimmering cleans
Have a good, non tone sucking effects loop
Must take well to pedals placed out front
The budget for this is likely to be $2,500 to $3,000 for an amp/cab setup. He'd like to have a 4x12 but might be convinced to go 2x12 if it's absolutely killer. I've suggested Axe fx, Kemper, Pod HD Pro but the desire is for a good ol' school half stack.
Ready, GO!
