I will post more as the mods continue....
The neck isnt bolted on.. Just set it on for pics...
I did not do the binding around the headstock either but am thinking about it.. What do you all think?
Also I did not put side marker dots back on the neck....
Should I or not.. looks clean without them to me... Not like I need them..LOL

I pitty the fool that does.. LOL

Looks great so far. Did you do the neck binging yourself?

Ok well in 2 pics the binding is painted on!!! can you tell??
1st 2 are painted and 2nd 2 are real binding and new frets..... It looked good painted but some frets were a little to worn for my taste so I just decided to go with real binding and a fret job..

When i painted it I used Duplicolor High build primer, cheap white wal-mart brand enamel and ACE fast drying clear lacquer.... It is tedious work but its cheaper then binding and looks the same... Not to mention its easier to touch up paint then actual binding..

The reason i had used high build primer was cause of the fret slots in the side were so deep....

but hey it If it were not for the bad frets I would have left it painted...
So should I go around the headstock too with the binding???
While it still apart...

New pics!!!! i had some misfortune with the old neck... the truss rod snapped and I just didnt feel like trying to fix it... so I got one off craigslist luckily.. Cost me $50 bucks and had paint all over it...

I wasnt going to go back and do the binding again so i took a shortcut and ended up doing the whole axe in white binding...

Still awaiting the bone nut.. I also have to put some more tung oil on the back of the neck... this is my progress so far!!
