Jca20h what mods to do?

Got a jca 20h in trade pretty cool amp what mods are you guys doing to get it I to tight metal territory

I have almost bought one of those every time they go on sale, lol

I always thought it would be good to do a depth control for more low end. Maybe change a cathode capacitor on the first gain stage to tighten the low end up some. You probably aren't gonna get metal without an OD pedal, or adding a preamp tube, which is a whole 'nother level of problems.

im running my modded sd-1 and its cool but feels cold till i crank it up... sound like a wonky nfb loop

Closest you can get it to SLO...heard about the mods but haven't executed them.

You could just replace some of the transistors, chokes, etc. with better quality to improve the signal throughput and get it somewhat closer to a Soldano.
