6 string baritone guitar for the left hand, 9 string bass with lowest 5 fretless (black tapewound strings), for the right hand.
Interesting techniques: Use of thumb, fretting and plucking / strumming with one hand, 3 region playing.

Now a good quality video. This 3-region tapping using advanced techniques amazes me, much of the time he isn't looking at the fretboard.

That's really cool. It's almost like a whole other class of instrument, the way he's using it.

I can't begin to imagine how much that must've cost. USA MTDs are expensive enough with stock specs, haha.

It's cool but I wonder how well he can improvise on that type of instrument. It's a technical accomplishment to merely play it, but if it's something where he has to spend forever memorizing how everything needs to synch up, and can't move freely, then that definitely casts it in a different light. There are, of course, many people that can improvise on a chapman stick, but this is even more complicated.
