This is all Techno's fault.:steve: If he hadn't posted this guitar in the dealers section I would still have some money in my bank account:lol:.

7DC
25.5" scale
KxK pickups wound similar to BKP Emeralds

Figured mahogany neck/body with bubinga stringers
7DCbubinga1.jpg

Figured bubinga top(can't really see the figuring very well in this pic)

Pale moon ebony fingerboard

And probably going to "zebra" the pickups PME/Bubinga

Sounds like it's really close to completion. So I'm pretty excited to see how this all looks together:pickle:

I personally think PME pup tops would set it off better than a 50/50... Looking forward to the result of this.

That's very possible. And I may go with all PME after Rob sends me some more pics showing what the different combos will look like with the rest of the guitar:cool:

I personally think the "zebra" idea would be straight pingin. Exotic zebra bobbins, that would catch on I think.

Amazing woods; this is going to stun for sure.

I'd go with the PME bobbins too, especially because they are matched. But the Bubinga looks really good too. Either way, you can't lose!

Yeah, I think the streaks that run through all the pieces of the PME will set it off and tie the whole design together very nicely. I'm afraid that a zebra deal with another wood would overpower the PME pickup tops and make them seem out of place, so to me it's either 100% PME or 100% Bubinga.

I'm not for certain, but I'd guess Gilmer? He does get some good looking pieces.

I wouldn't be too surprised. I've been down to Gilmer and talked to Marc, the instrument specialist there. He's been making guitars for 30+ years and can definitely hook a guy up with some insane lumber :agreed:

I just know some of the pics he has sent me have had the same green framed carts that Gilmer has in some there pics.

Out there, somewhere
That's going to look awesome :yesway: The fretboard is fantastic and I love that mahogany

Also it's definitely NOT Gilmer for most of the wood. I know he has a couple local lumber yards he uses for a lot of pieces (local as in within a couple hours of the shop)

If you haven't found any yet you might check Cook Woods. Thats where I found this one:yesway: That's gonna take a big piece though...

A couple more pics of the pickup tops.

This might be tough choice. I might just go with the PME tops on this guitar, and get the bubinga tops put on another set of pickups for one of my other guitars:idea:

I actually really like the Zebra matchups but it might be overly busy when applied to the actual guitar top.
