For absolutely no reason or purpose, I am strangely interested in what metal bands France has to offer, seeing as how French culture greatly emphasizes the Arts. If any French ss.org users read this, I am intrigued about the metal scene in France from your perspective.

Strange, I was unaware that Blut Aus Nord was from France until now. However, I knew of them before, and listened to and enjoyed their music. I find them to be brilliant.

Aosoth is another great BM band
Les Discrets were probably better than Alcest (for me) and of course both bands rose from Amosoeurs

Arkan weren't bad.
Misanthrope do gothic-y DM
Scarve had one decent album at least.
