Because people use all sorts of different terms to name the post-Peavey 5150's, like 5153, 5150 iii, EVH 5150, EVH 5153, 5150 111, etc etc so It's hard to search....

Can someone give be a timeline of the EVH 5150 different models and variations?
Specifically interested in the full sized heads not the 50w or smaller

Thanks heaps

I'm no expert on them but there is the 5150 (block letter then signature) then 5150 II. When EVH split from Peavey they changed those amps to the 6505 and 6505+ which are the same amps as the 5150 and 5150 II respectively. I think the 6505 means 6-5-05 which was Peavey's 50th anniversary or something like that. Then when EVH started his own brand he made the EVH 5150 III, which people call those other names you mentioned like 5153; they are the same amp but just different ways of writing it. The 5150 III has different versions like the 15w LBX, 50 and 100w, 6l6 and el34 versions, and then there is the stealth model.

If you want a 100 watt and not a 50 then all the Peavey variations of the 100 watt are heads, only the combos are smaller (60w I think). EVH does make both 50 and 100w versions though and of different tube types.

Yeah I know all the Peavey timeline of stuff and variants but mostly want to know what came after that in the big, full sized heads

EVH only makes 3 versions of the 100w I think. The 100w with 6l6s, the version with el34s and then the stealth. They are all 5150 IIIs. Then like Knight mentioned the Invective is the newest from Peavey based on that line.

Isn't there a 100watt EL34 "Stealth" as well? Or are all the 100 watt EL34 versions labled "S"?

The latter, all the 100 watt EL34's have an S on them. KnightBrolair is correct. There are only three 100w 5150 III amps, and there are no "2.0" versions of them as with the 50w.

6L6, EL34, Stealth

Great amp, I have the 6L6 version love the cleans, the dirtys are also gnarly and cover a tonne of territory. a shame only the small ones have MIDI also beware of power switches on the rear panel. Total bummer lol

It might be confusing but those are all names for the same amp. There are different versions of the amp (wattage, tubes, etc.) but they're all the 5150 III/5153.
