I'm revising my answer. The Zac Brown Band is solid at number 5. I can't believe I overlooked this when thinking about it the first time around...For how much hate radio country gets, a lot of those guys can flat out play.

Shit, I listen to so much different crap, I wouldn't even know where to begin.

Am I out of touch with a lot of new shit? Probably.

Hell, I can barely keep up with discovering awesome old stuff.

But the truth is I am always open to finding new good shit. And it's out there, that's for sure. Old shit. New shit.

I used to have "favorite" bands, but then I found a lot of bands that had maybe only one thing that I thought was cool, but that one thing would be awesome, and no-one else did anything like it.

So, what, did I turn into a "favorite songs" guy? Had my short attention span finally gotten the best of me?

Squirrel!

So I dig evrything from death metal to bluegrass to classical to jazz to fuck, some of the shit I love isn't even music! So, do I try to list shit no-one has ever heard of in the hopes that someone might search it out and actually dig it?

So... some stuff I haven't seen listed yet...

Budgie- old school NWOBHM
Voivod- gotta listen to all the albums in order until you can't take it anymore, which is about Angel Rat for me
Blind Illusion- the metal band Les Claypool and Larry LaLonde were in before Suck on This came out
Milk Cult- just do it
The Boredoms- Japanese noise
Praxis- funk, metal, noise, Buckethead and Bootsy Collins- why the hell not?
Namanax- more noise
Man is the Bastard- intense metal/noise/hardcore, with extra noise
Chris Poland- played guitar with Megadeth? Awesome player, just awesome
Geto Boys- like rap? Then why the hell don't you know who these guys were?
Ry Cooder- he plays guitar... fuck, just go utoob him right now
Michael Hedges- more guitar awesomeness
Hell Hammer- these guys were Scandinavians with death metal make-up 30 years ago! Fronted by none other than the driving force behind Celtic Frost- Tom G. Warrior! Not to be confused with Tom L. Warrior...

Also, isn't there a Stanley Jordan thread floating around here somewhere?

Not to mention some Hawaiian slack key goodness!

Okay, my ADD is kicking in.. Gotta go!
