Looking for some advice on my first extended range.

I’m on a mission to find a girthy guitar to add to my collection. It’ll be my first venture into anything beyond 6 strings. I just want to make sure I’m not overlooking anything.

I play mostly BDM/SLAM metal like Devourment . That’s pretty much my requirement for a guitar to do. Make slam noises.

I’m open to suggestions. I could do a 7-string too but I’m drawn to the 8s for some reason.

Specs that you need/want could be useful. New vs used? Price range too. Without knowing further information I’d say based on your list the Tao.

Ah sorry that would help if I were more specific. New is preferred, my budget is $1500 but used is ok too. I want at least a 27” scale length, stainless frets, active pickups or at least the option of fitting actives. Otherwise I’m not that picky.
