I use Drop A tuning For that I use the following: 9-46 strings for the standard 6+I use 68 for the drop A

I cant believe how big strings you're all using, I use 56 for standard B or 58 for drop A and I dont have any issues!

I have a ESP Viper 407 in standard B tuning using a 56 and I think it plays really nice!

I use a .054 for B and .059 for A. I was never big on big strings.

I'm playing on 25.5" scale guitars with 430mm radii and 1.5-2.0mm 12th fret action. No buzzing, even on rhythms.

Yeah it is ridiculous that an LTD can go for that much. I bought an LTD MH-1000 FR Deluxe shipped from the US FOR ABOUT AUD$1000 and out of interest I phoned around in Aus to see the prices and they were asking between 1800-2300.

I need heavy gauge strings because I tend to hit hard and I need something that "bites back" essentially. and when bending I over bend easily with 9-10's. So I need to use 11's. Also when bending I like some "fight" with the guitar, but hell that's me.

I have a 064 in A and it's kinda loose, but I had a 068 and found it too thick and "bass-sounding". I like a sharper sound on my low strings, so I usually go 059-060 for low B and 064 for low A

I use light gauges like yourself, and on the 7th I don't get buzz but I do get a weird sort of percussive sound when I use heavy pick attack... It sounds cool, but also is probably an indication that I should be beefing up the B string

If they came out with a 27" (baritone) version, MH-417B (?), I'd be all over it. :hbang:
