I'm using an OD808 with my 6505+ and it sounds fucking awesome. I had an Ibanez TS9 before that and the OD808 blows it away, hands down. Although, I haven't tried an OD9.

From what ive heard the od9 doesnt cut as much bass as the OD9 so theres one thing to factor in i suppose. I just bought one myself :yesway: Still need to test it though

From what I can tell, the OD9 is an improved version of the OD808.

I still prefer the Digitech HardWire CM-2 in the price-range though. :fawk:

I actually did a massive A'Bing of them both not too long ago,
and ended up with buying the OD-9 while I could buy the 808 for half the price second hand in mint condition.

The OD-9 sounds alot better to my ears, it cuts more bass and changes the voicing abit in a way that I really like.

The OD808 sounded good too, but it felt like suiting better for leads
than for boosting your ryhthm tone, I'd say that the 808 is more about
adding more gain and saturation to your tone and the OD9 is more about
cutting frequencies, it adds gain too, but does it less, at least that's how I feel.

The OD-9 is probably more modern sounding while the 808 is more
warm and hot, that's why I think it suits better for leads then rhythm,
and I was pretty happy from the OD-9 leads compared to the 808.

I guess you should try them both through your amp, it may be different from one rig to another.

i assume you were clean boosting with both pedals? an interesting comparison, but from the sound of it, I would like the od808 more...? tough to say.

They are incredibly similar, almost identical. The OD808 is lower output and a little smoother. The OD9 IS an ibanez TS808, no difference other than true bypas stock. The OD808 is basically a TS9 with a couple of improvements  crazy they reverse the numbers!
