song is 17/16. I already posted an earlier mix of this song but I feel like this one is alot better and I want some criticism.

any thoughts on mix are welcome. The guitars are pod x3 and this is only my first month with the machine. drums are superior 2.0 with metal foundry. Thank you!

Ha! awesome man! im really freakin impressed. I really like everything, the bass sounds huuuge and the landscape you have with the synths are great. The ONLY thing i could even comment about is that the snare isnt really up to par with the rest of the drums and song. Could just be personal opinion of course, but i loove this song. Great, great work. :hbang:

This mix does sound great man, I agree with the snare part tho, a little quiet or something not sure, not enough crack or thwack? loved the acoustic addition there too. definitely putting it on my mp3 player :metal:

Damn, this is a huge improvement! I'm highly interested, what have you done to improve?

Thanks alot!
I just about eq'd every guitar and synth so that they had their own little slot in the frequency range. also raised the entire mix from 10kHz-20kHz for that extra cymbal clarity.

Man, this is awesome !

Great mix, great sound and what a great song, I love it!:metal::yesway::shred:
It's very heavy but also has this very strong and IMO melancholic, sad melody which sets a very nice atmosphere.

work...in St. Paul
my main criticism is whatever freq range the crashs are accentuated in...little too sharp/fizzy

overall sounds pretty damn good to me

Sounds good, just a few things I would change ....

Bring down the cymbal volume a tad and pan the drums more to make them sound more realistic. high hats should be panned left side about 60% then pan out the cymbals and toms accordingly. Pan them as if you were sitting behind the kit yourself and visually place the drums on the stereo spectrum. This will improve the mix 1000000x

Find the main bass frequency and multiply it by 2 from there boot another 1 or 2 db just to give it some more definition.

I would also put a high pass filter on the rhythm guitars.

Oh yes, this sounds badass. Very nice, low-end works great. What did you do in terms getting the bass and guitars working together? Low-pass filter/shelving? Instead of raising the mix post 10k you could maybe try a harmonic exciter, it should sound less shrill, which is the only thing I'd say is wrong mix wise. It makes the cymbals sound a bit mushy to me.

But the song really has the groove which is the most important thing. :)

What amp/cab model did you use? The rhythm guitars sound massive, yet still defined.
