The International is one of the best espionage movies (besides the Good Shepherd and The Lives of Others) of the last 20 years.

Casino Royale was the best Craig era bond movie by far.

Mission Impossible peaked with MI3

Easy 7/10, really well done and seeing the flip from act two into three was a nice little surprise; only reason it's not higher, and this is a little unfair to it as it's my own knowledge and not necessarily a fault in the writing:

It's a little easy to spot the beats of where things are going even in the beginning of the movie: Noa is the son of the clan, he's going to end up as the head of the clan. Noa doesn't have the ability to command the eagles like his father or clan, he's going to learn for the finale. Raka is the Obi-Wan to his Luke and sacrificed himself when he believes he must. Proximus is a parallel to any power hungry human, and just wants to beat us to regaining power so they can keep it.

Not to say that those are BAD things by any means, it's a very logical story to tell, it's just that once you know that method of storytelling you're in it for the journey, not the destination.

Went and saw Deadpool & Wolverine yesterday with the wife for our wedding anniversary. Plot was rubbish but the jokes and ridiculous action scenes mostly made up for it.
It only went too over the top for me when the main bad guy was made funny. Should've kept all the side characters somewhat serious imo.

Name a more iconic duo. I'll wait.

I see only one person here. What "duo"?

The contents of those budgie smugglers? That's easy...

I found skyfall to be so « unbond »… boring story and i was sotired of the relations ship between bond and Dench’s Q « love you love you not » and then she died and i was soooo happy!!! And the « Home alone » kinda finish, didnt feel like a james bond to me. Then comes Blofeld in spectre with his childhood jealousy to become the #1 terrorist in the world…uninteresting…
Strangely i found the last one more interesting, even it the bad guy’s motivation were pretty weak
Casino royale remains imo the best of Craig’s era and one of the best of all

There's actually a great video out there about why Blofeld doesn't work in Spectre, because the very twist they tried to pull, was actually a joke twist done in Austin Powers: Goldmember which came out ...11 years earlier or something? So the writers ended up ripping off their own parody trying to be clever and modernizing the entire thing.

Craig and Dalton are Bonds for non Bond fans.

I really think Dalton could have been a bester Bond if he was in the 90s or earlier 80s/late 70s flicks. Those two he was in had a different vibe overall IIRC.

Skyfall was good! Better than Casino Royale which got dragged down by a bunch of lame romance stuff. Other than those 2 the Craig ones were terrible. Hm, I might not actually have seen the last one. Just not interested.

Dalton demanded that. He is not Bond, nor does he appear to look like Bond until half way in the second film.

I kind of lowkey hate Skyfall. It has a lot of sound and fury, I think the theme song is one of the great James Bond themes, and it has some incredible cinematography, but it has some of the most inexplicable character behavior of the series, which is really saying something. Like, what the hell is with Bond doing surprise sex with the woman who prior to that scene we basically only find out was a victim of sexual slavery? And then shortly after that the movie just kills her off to make us think the bad guy means business and Bond doesn't care. It's gross! And I really don't like all the focus on Judi Dench. She's not that interesting, movie! We already got enough of that with The World Is Not Enough and most people (not me) thought that one stunk!

I watched Spectre once and don't remember much of anything other than I didn't like it at all. Give me Roger Moore being pursued in a clown costume any day over that boring, dour movie. I like the serious ones when they're well-made (ex, From Russia with Love, Casino Royale '06, or even some of the lesser entries like Licence to Kill or For Your Eyes Only).

I still haven't watched the last one.

"Lame Romance Stuff"? Casino Royale is one of like, two movies in the entire series that actually work on an emotional level besides awesome stunts. I think it's all contingent on whether you the viewer fall in love with Eva Green, and as a straight redblooded man I must say that yes, I did. I think it's the best Bond movie. Second best is The Spy Who Loved Me cause it's the most fun.

I don't get the hype between Eva Green as Vespa, she looked ...not great for whatever reason in that movie; if you want to see her at maximum boner inducing, I'd say it's the 300 sequel. Bond women have been downhill since Famke Jensen (and yes, I know she's a villain), Olga whatshersomething COULD'VE been good in Quantum of Solace but they made her look like a victim of Goldfinger with all that bronzer. I think Gemma Arterton was also in that one, so she was also outgunned there too.

The sex trade lady was far more interesting than Eva Green, who I thought was very plain and boring.

And who said Bond has to be some perfect role model? It's more fun and interesting if he's not.

I liked the Judi Dench stuff. Her character could have had a little more spice maybe, but I liked the idea and thought it worked pretty good.

No one, but it feels gross in a goddam james bond movie, which is historically a series for escapism, to even include details about sexual assault. If they hadn't included that crap it would have been far less weird. I like the entries where James Bond is more ruthless, like Licence to Kill. But Skyfall like, doesn't have him be morally ambiguous except in those couple of misfire scenes. The rest of it he's supposed to be hero spy man like normal. It's badly written. Plenty of people like it, I'm not one of them. It's about on the level of View to a Kill for me. Still watchable, but near the bottom of my list. Certainly way better than Spectre.

She had an incredible run in the 2000s of being by far the best part of pretty weak movies. Dark Shadows, 300 2, Sin City 2, etc. She just oozed sexuality and charisma. My favorite example of how big of a presence she was on screen is in Kingdom of Heaven, where the scenes with her and Orlando Bloom are just embarrassing with how much he gets acted off the screen.

Eva Green is what a racoon would look like if you asked it to put on a dress and act.

One of these days I'll get around to watching the director's cut of Kingdom of Heaven, as far as I know that's really the only way to watch it. I straight up FORGOT they made a Sin City 2, but not surprised she ended up in it given her look.

I don't remember Casino Royale much other than the gambling scene(s) and Eva Green. Yowza! She hit me (it felt like a kiss).
