so, correct me if i'm wrong, but it looks like you drilled 3 holes where the screws that normally hold the sustain block onto the Floyd would go, and just attached the bridge that way, so that you end up with what's essentially a fixed floyd. is that right? do you have any way of adjusting the action? seems like a pretty cool idea.

Aha! Good eye. :yesway: That's exactly what I did. I disassembled and surface-mounted the trem right to the body. Adjusting it was the really tricky part. I used 1 inch stainless steel washers to bring it up 1/8 of an inch, to the right height. Then I used .5 mm brass shims and raised each saddle up to the perfect height.

If I'd had a better router, I could have routed the body out to exactly the depth I needed. But, that'll be next time.

OR!!! If Ibanez would make the 7 string locking hard tail bridge available...but never mind. That'll never happen.

Dude, that was a very clever way of putting a guitar together. Nice work!

Don't like the body shape, but the headstock is fantastic. Very nicely done.

Thanks. It was a lot of fun. The thought of trying to make a neck or a proper neck joint raises my blood pressure, so this was the best way for me to go. Next time I'll make the whole body. I ended up completely changing the neck joint anyway, so why the hell not?

Who's "you guys" and how is it "harsh?"

I just said it was unique. Hyperbole, anyone? You can be so dramatic sometimes, Nick.

It's just opinions. ;)

 Most of the time there's comments like these, you feel like they're adressed to you (and you react accordingly...).
Anyway, i just wanna say i'm pretty sure this was adressed at Stitch's comment, wich was way, way more rude than yours. :)

NOW DON'T GET ME WRONG! DON'T GET ME WRONG! PLEEEASE DON'T GET ME WRONG!
Please.

My camera sucks monkey dicks! I tried to do close ups, but they were really bad. I'll add some more tomorrow, when I have time to mess with lighting a bit.
