Been looking to pick up an 800 for a while. Happened to catch this locally. 1986 JCM800 2205. Sounds awesome even without an overdrive, but my PQ3 sure makes it roar.

Now I need a 2nd cab. Thinking about picking up a 90's 1960TV off of CL. Hopefully that will cure my GAS for a little while. Ahh heck, who am I kidding. I still need to finish my rack.

Yeah, I prefer the tan over black. The cab I'm looking at has tan cloth. Hoping it's still available Saturday because its a bit of a drive.

These amps are freaking awesome.
Don't hesitate on the 1960TV cab. in the event you miss out on that, definitely keep an eye out for a Mode Four cab as another Marshall oversized 4x12 option.

Those old Marshalls are still the king of live band mixes.

I used to own a 2203 (100w, single channel) and a Mesa Boogie Mark IIC+ at the same time.

While the Mark kicked ass at home and on recordings, the entire band preferred the Marshall live :D

Probably my favorite Marshall.

And me picking a favorite Marshall amp is hard. I love most of them!

Enjoy that 80's goodness!

Congrats! Definitely need to get in on the Marshall tube game soon. I don't have much experience playing the 800 but my buddies modded 2000 is incredible.

Nice score! The other guitarist in my band uses the same amp sometimes (80's JCM800 with tan cloth at least - looks the same) with an attenuator. It sounds great, especially with leads.

how do you like that ADA MP-1? I have a friend who has one with a Tube Works power amp. It's pretty cool. Gives a late 80's/early 90's metal vibe.

I really like the MP-1. Lots of good 80's tones out of it. Been using my JCM 900 as a power amp for it until I find a rack amp.

I love the PQ-3 more though. Set the mids around 800 and crank the boost up and it makes amps scream.

So, I did end up getting the 1960TV on Sunday. Man, it sounds great. It's also my first 4x12 and the sound is huge compared to my 2x12.

Pardon the extra baseboards and pedal board mess.

I'll try to get some sound clips this weekend.
