Hey fellows.

Today I decided to make a change of my iTunes library, which includes much removal as well, but I really need some new and exciting artists to listen to and therefore I have been convinced before that of the great taste of music here :yesway:.

Some of my favorites:

Dream Theater
Haken
Tigran
Savant (Aleksander Vinter)
Bill Evans? (If you have a particular album from him)
Brian Culbertson
David Maxim Micic
Plini

(I also listen to a lot of Electronic music (Not the standard Electro-House stuff as well as Hip Hop, Rock, Soul. Really as long as the quality of the music is good I'm in. So go! "Multi-genred artists" as some would refer them as would definitely be nice.

Thanks in advance and a good day to you :flame:

I'm not even gonna be ashamed about recommending these:

Rocky Sharpe & the Replays - BECAUSE REASOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONS
The Birthday Massacre - Synth/rock/pop-ish. Sweet tunes, cute voice, atmospheric. If ya intend to check them out, start out with their album 'Violet'.
MUCC - Japanese multi-genre/mostly heavy with vocals that don't sound like every other male-fronted japanese band. My long time favorite (Y) also, don't look up anything post-2006 by them.
Front Line Assembly - EBM/Darkwave/Synth-industrial

These may not be your cup o' tea... At all, haha. But whatever! Give it a shot :D

Started a thread on this composition in particular a little while ago:

If you aren't very familiar with at least a bit of Bach's stuff, you might want to become such.

New upcoming genre-bending supergroup (members of Renaissance Sound, Loose Lips Sink Ships, and The Paramedics, all great bands):

Do you like piano music? You should. Try this?

Something faster?

Just in case:

Some music I find very interesting:

Charles Mingus - Mingus Ah Um
Weather Report - Heavy Weather, "Birdland"
Al Di Meola/Paco De Lucia/John Mclaughlin - The Guitar Trio, "La Estiba/Beyond The Mirage"
Miles Davis - Bitches Brew

For pushing the boundaries in electronic:
Amon Tobin - Foley Room, "At The End Of The Day"

Some stuff I like that sounds kind similar to what you have there (or doesn't but might be worth a try!)

Sithu Aye
Cloudkicker
Rishloo
Anciients
The Dear Hunter
Karnivool
Katatonia (Mainly Dead End Kings album for me)
The Ocean (Pelagial)
Oceansize

And a link to my band camp collection as that has many of those and some other stuff you can just flick though easily. Hope that helps!

Passively listen to Music for 18 Musicians by Steve Reich. The version by Grand Valley State University is nice. Keep it on in the background while you are surfing the web. Do this 5 times, if you don't like it, that is fine. If you do like it, :welcome:

Going off of Dream Theater and Haken I would recommend to you A.C.T from Sweden. They always sounded to me like a lighter, poppier, less pretentious Dream Theater. Top notch musicianship, but they don't overdo it.

Hmmm, you're from Denmark....

I'd say, The Interbeing? Copenhagen product. Very good band. :metal:

Also the classic stuff like SikTh and Sigur Rós, Tool and Seventh Wonder and Russian Circles and so on if you haven't listened to them yet somehow.

I knew I could count on you! I've definitely got some material to look through, but I am certain that some of them stand close to my preferences.

Augmented Fourth: Yes. I've been listening to Bach for some time although I've just begun analyzing some of his pieces and taking a more in-depth look in the Baroque-style counterpoint (When I come to think of it, I believe that you where to one to recommend me Kennan's Counterpoint).

Monobody sounds quite exciting although I'm sad they haven't released anything yet, but that's about to change soon? I enjoy piano pieces, but compositions with single instrumentation throughout can easily bore me, especially if the dynamic range is not utilized.

Thanks fellows!
