I agree an agile would be a great starter guitar. Just nothing with a floyd, I learnt on a guitar with a cheap floyd and it was hell.

Yamaha pacificas are some of the best beginner guitars around.

A good recommendation.

The younger will be pretty small - only 8.

Squier mini or GRG Mikro would be a better size, but quality-wise a Pacifica blows them both out of the water.
