I'm digging them both pretty hardcore. If either hits retail I might just need to sell a Les Paul or two.

More 7 strings on the market is good but it's not my thing.

+1 for 7 a string exporer.

But.

Do they even think about the design aspects of these? Why would anyone ever put an output jack there on that V?

The explorer looks cool, but the white headstock? Gibson is 98% all black headstocks only, and now that they do a white one, it doesn't match the body...

I was hoping for a baritone Les Paul Custom 7 string.

Let me just think about that for a little while....

Ok done, this is a nice guitar, glad to see another Gibson 7.

If you play live with your cable tucked behind your strap,
it's actually an extremely convenient place for an input.

That 7 string Exploder is bad ASSSS!!
Too bad it's a 24.5 scale :noplease:

I can see that, but in that case, why not just place it under the top wing? like Ibanez and others do?

Still, more 7s :)

Yeah, the headstock is hideous, and I don't care for the V either. Hope it's just a prototype flaw.

it's always nice seeing some old-school guitar companies make modernized versions of their guitars. 7 string silverburst explorer w/ EMGs :hbang:

now if fender would release a Jim Root Telecaster 7 string

MMMMMMMMMM :yum: That Explorer 7. Sooo much more GAS if it had the black headstock and a 25.5" scale...

I may one of these days get the normal Explorer 7 and black it out - that is if the shorter scale don't piss me off enough and sell it...

i think it'd be pretty cool if they made a burstbucker 7 string pickup, freakin love them in LP's and i think they'd be awesome in that explorer! Also, 2 more frets... just 2 more...

That would be my only qualm with it, EMGs are fine, but Burstbuckers. Oh sweet Jesus, I'd do things for seven string Burstbuckers. I wonder what would be similar enough to them to replace the EMGs with.
