Marketplace RULES

1) The Marketplace is for Participating Sevenstring.org Members. If you have one post and it is an eBay link to your auction, it is obvious that you don't want to join the community and are only here to help sell your gear.

*****************************
You NEED to have these two conditions met prior to posting. If not your thread will be silently deleted/closed.

a) Minimum 100 posts (subject to you not just being a post whore)
b) Had 6 months pass from the date of your first post
c) Alternately be a site contributor

*****************************

Such posts WILL BE DELETED by the Mods no questions asked

2) All FS/FT Threads MUST USE the following format. We don't want you writing 3 paragraphs worth of stuff and having to sift through it to find your information etc. This format keeps everything short and sweet and makes it easier to read and follow.
Brief & Accurate Description of gear/guitar:
Modifications (if any):
Accessories (hardshell case etc):
Location (City,State or City,Country):
International OK? :
Contact Info (No Phone #s)
References (eBay or other forum userid):
Price (include currency and if firm/obo):
Pictures:

Please copy the above format and then fill in the information.

All fields are required unless not applicable (for example if you have made no modifications or don't have any accessories you can leave them out). Asking price is REQUIRED, this isn't ebay, though you may specify OBO with the price.

All WTB/LF Threads MUST USE the following format.
Gear/Guitar Wanted:
Additional Accessories (hardshell case etc):
Your Location (City,State or City,Country):
International OK?:
Contact Info (No Phone #s):
References (eBay or other forum userid):
Price (include currency and if firm/obo):

3) If you are not posting questions related to the sale of the item in question, please do not fill up the thread with garbage posts.

There are plenty of other forums to make witty remarks in, the FS/T forums are for people looking to deal gear.

Undermining sellers, cracking jokes, and other useless nonsense will absolutely not be tolerated. You will enjoy a short nap if you do this.

Such posts WILL BE DELETED and the member will get a warning. Subsequent infractions will result in naps.

4) This is not for mass vendor eBay sales. If you are a vendor and would like to advertise your merchandise here, we can accomodate you but please PM any of the Mods first beforehand and we'll work something out.

Failure to do so prior to posting threads will result in DELETED threads.

5) If you are a new member, it is REQUIRED that you post a link to your eBay profile if applicable, or a link to another forum/etc where people can vouch for you. If you have only one post and it is an auction, the listing will be DELETED.

6) If you are not the seller of said item, DO NOT post Ebay links here. Remember folks, this is not a forum for general discussion. This is a classifieds section designed to SELL YOUR OWN STUFF!

If you want to discuss a guitar that's currently on Ebay, post it in the appropriate guitar forums or Hot Auction Thread.

7) Please limit bumping your classifieds threads to once per day.

8) Please only post one thread per item.

9) By reading this and following the above format specified you are clear to post a thread in the appropriate Classifieds Forum. We (mods) will know who hasn't read this thread and your thread will be closed for the first offense and then deleted there after should you still fail to read this thread.

10) Proxy sales are not allowed. You must be the owner of the item for sale and have it in your possession to list it in the classifieds.

11) Once your item has sold please use the report post feature (the
report.gif
icon under the user profile on the left) to let the mod staff know your item has sold so the thread can be closed. Do not delete the content of your for sale post, delete the price the item sold for, etc.

12) Once you have finished your sale/purchase and receive the item/money please leave some feedback for the person. We find it to be a good judge of the member and who doesn't like a pat on the back for a job well done? Negative feedbacks should be held for a while - please try to work stuff out before just dropping a negative feedback. Stuff happens in the mail with weather, strikes etc so take that into consideration.

General Guidelines

For Your Protection:

If you send someone money, it is YOUR responsibility to make sure that the vendor is reputable, and that you have proof of payment. We can't make this clear enough. The best way to protect yourself here is to do your homework and check out the seller BEFORE you send your money off.It is your responsibility to do check the seller and determine for yourself if it appears to be an honest deal.

Though it sucks when things don't go well, remember that it's not up to the Admins/Mods to see that things get corrected when they go awry. We've personally recieved pages and pages of PM's from members asking for help locate scammers, bad vendors and otherwise. The bottom line here is that this is a public forum, moderated by people who have time commitments of their own. It's up to you to take measures to protect yourself.

If you have a problem with a transaction please PM myself of any of the moderation team and if possible we will try to help, but understand that we take no responsibility for any transactions here.

Thanks

There seems to be some confusions regarding what is required when posting references.

Generally speaking a buyer will feel more secure if you provide them with more references of prior transactions. If you do not have much iTrader here ideally we would like you to post your own user name/s from eBay or any other forum that you have had successful online transactions. Some sellers choose to post the names of those they have had successful trades with if they do not have sufficient feedback here or elsewhere, if you do this please only list ss.org members with the statement "successful trades with" as it can become confusing otherwise.

If you are new to online selling (we all had to start somewhere) please do not leave the references blank otherwise your post will be deleted. All that is required is a simple statement that you are new to selling online and have no references. It does limit your chances of a sale but there are ways to make a potential buyer feel secure, the best is to limit your sale to local pickup, if you are going to post it accepting paypal with a credit card or using an escrow service are two ways that you can reassure the buyer that you are safe to deal with.

Per the "new" rules which went into effect last year:

The Marketplace sub forums are a service offered to members. You may not have your first post be a classifieds thread. Doing so will result in the closure of said thread and a warning. Continued abuse will result in further action.

Do not post in a classifieds thread unless you are making a legitimate offer or asking a legitimate and to-the-point question. Any chatter or pointless posts (including the questioning of price) will result in a ban. If it’s not your thread, stay out. No "I wish I could/Great guitar bro/OMG someone buy this" etc posts will be allowed.

You've been warned. :)
