Beautiful instrument, reminds me of my ol' 7VWH, sold last year.

Out of curiosity: what's your impression on that thicker whammy bar?

I compared it with the original Lo pro edge bar given in the box and the new carbon fiber bar is really better when it comes to the placement of it...It stays where you left it because it's so light...it doesn't fall appart because of the gravity.
The feel is ok but I really like the metal feel too.
On the other side, I noticed that the "gargles" when you it the bar to have the "brrr" "brrr" sound is less pronounced than with the metalic bar, that's logical there is nearly no weight...

I actually like the bar falling down due to gravity. I set my guitars all with the bar loose, so it falls when I let 'em go.

A beautiful guitar! Many congrats! I picked up mine a few weeks back as well! They aren't making these anymore so I was glad to be able to get one up here!

Great playing as well!

That's excactly the reason why I bought it...I had a big big discount on it, I thought I would have regrets not not buy it...

Félicitations ! :yesway: :)

Thomann lowered seriously the price before the Jem7v7 disappears
Is that the discount you're talking about ?

Happy NGD
they are gorgeous guitars. Shame they have discountined it, I always thought they should have expanded the 7string Jem range with versions based on the old classic Floral/Blue Floral Pattern or the Jem777DY

thoman and dv247 had them insanely cheep for ages, Thoman now sold out but Digital Village still has two at just over £1800, thats somethign liek £700 off the price year or so ago!

Anyway great buy mate and hope you enjoy that beuatiful guitar

Amazing guitar. Happy NGD!

Those JEMS seem to have a consistent lead tone I can't quite put my finger one. Great playing and thanks for the video.

How do you like this guitar compared to your J-Custom RG8527z ?

Well I like them both...But I have to admit that the J.Custom is a step above the JEM in terms of sound and construction. The JEM7v7 is a really good guitar and I like it a lot, it can be agressive, or smooth, it can scream or be nice, but the J.Custom has this extra response the JEM lacks...
Plus the pickup positions are more versatitle in the RG than the Jem. Don't know why but each position has a very distinct sound while in the Jem it's the same sound basis with more or less creaminess...

The only point where I find the JEM better, and that's why I love it so much as a soloist : it's very, very easy to make is scream, and it screams loud !!
Here is a video I made with the RG8527z and it illustrates well what I say :
You can hear in the solo the very precise attack but with a kind of spongyness with an extra "oumpf" added to it...
