Very cool! I purchased my Racktifier in September and I really love the thing. Recto's just have this sound to them that really inspires my playing. I don't know what I'd want different about mine though, well MIDI would be nice and I really like how mine is rackmounted. I'd love a Roadster rackmounted!!

I've never had an issue with the clean tone, I think it sounds just fine but maybe that's me. All you have to do for the distortion is throw a boost on and your set... the flub is gone and the tone is super tight!

midi? We can dream. Either way I think I will hold off buying an amp until I see this thing! Anyone know if it's gonna be released at namm this year or if it's still in the works?

Forgive my ignorance, but what would be the advantage of having midi on a mesa amp?

Same as any amp... you can control it with midi :D Say you have a multi effects unit that's controlled by midi. You can hook the amp and unit together and control with the stomp of one button rather than having to use a midi controller AND the amps footswitch. Simplifies life.

this would be a nice addition to the Recto line for sure.
My buddy had a balckface 2 channel that he foolishly sold a while ago
that I would've loved to have grabbed for myself.

For all of you guys whining about flubby low end on a recto:

Dial the bass knob back until your lows are tight. Seriously.

It works like a charm.

I know, right? :agreed:

Sweet, now all I need is the money for a Mesa and I'm good to go. Though, I'd probably pick up a Mark V, first.

"Mesa/Boogie Octuple Rectifier; Bass that's 8 times saggier, mids that are 8 times as aggressive, highs that are 8 times as ear-splittingly sharp, a price that's 8 times your budget." - Demoniac

Although that was a joke from the "Amps That Were Never Made But Should Have Been" thread.

I seriously DO NOT have a problem with the low end on my Dual Rec.

I did what Budda said the first time a went tone searching.

It's more the lack of focus. No matter how far you wind it back it wont "make a ball". Great for Nickelback riffs but you really need to boost those Rectos and dial out the fizz to get anything useable for my tastes.

Don't you dial the fizz out and boost most amps? ;)

If I didn't boost, I probably wouldn't get a recto lol

Have you played a Splawn? :flame:

this. it's almost ridiculous how much rectos profit from a tubescreamer put in front

They really should start actually building a tubescreamer type unit into the rectifiers front end. I gotta admit after owning a dual for 10 years and selling it for a Nitro there are sometimes days I miss the sheer brutality of the Recto over the clinical clear nature of the Nitro. The mesas really are crushing with the right boost and a fair amount of tweaking.

I pretty much boost any amp. Some people don't boost at all.

I suppose it would be a good idea but, where does one start?

Maybe that would be something for the new model. Im all for the series FX loop and midi control.

I agree 100% that the early '90s two-channels blow away the newer, "tighter" ones. There was just more grind and chunk there, good to see that they've recognized this.

Which sucks, because while it sounds way better with a boost, it's pain in the ass. I hate having to switch the boost off and on when I switch to clean.

My tubescreamer just stays on, and I roll back the volume for cleans ;)
