New Mixtest! (Pod X3, SD 2.0)

So we have begun writing our upcoming EP in my band, and I thought that it would be fun to record a little clip!
I have learned a lot from just reading threads in this area at the forum, you guys are all great and you have helped me very much!

I know that there's always room for improvements!
I like criticism!!

I tracked the guitars with my LTD MH-400NT and the bass with a Yamaha RBX375.

Sounds good. Nice job. There's a lot of ambience on the drums which gives a feeling of space, but not too much. Maybe a little much on the snare, but that's more of a personal taste.

sounds pretty coo'! keep it up! i'd make the kick a bit more louder/more powerful imo, but thats just me, still a newbie at this.

how did you get that tone with the X3 btw? it's the regular "bean" model yeah?

I think the kick is a bit too clicky, but the riffs are badass, and I love your tone! What amp/cab/mic are you using?

Gate > Stomp/Screamer > Diamondplate > Comp > Verb

And I turn the cab off in the bean and use impulses instead!
Im pretty happy with the guitar sound, it's starting to shape up.. it's just a wee bit too mechanic, but I think it's the pickups in my guitar.. I hate EMG's!

Im not that happy with the kickdrum sound, it sounds to plastic and clicky.. haven't had time to tweak around with it yet, but the overall sound of the kit is good in my opinion!
