HI!
First of all, hello, I´m new.
SEcondly, sorry my porr english, Isn´t my first language.
Third:

I have the oportunity to buy an Ibanez RG 1527 (like new), for something about 700 € (w/Dimarzio custom blaze and air norton 7 Pus). another chance is about 800 euros an UV 7 BK, that is the older one I,ve ever seen, and it is not in very good condition. Here are the photos:

*PUt http: in fornt of the URL direction

img0126, img127 and img128 are the ones I would like you to see.
And the question is, would you buy something of this two guitars, or is better that I´ll don´t do anything except wait for another UV7BK in better condition or an 7620VK.

Thank you for reading ALL this :wallbash:

The pictures have gone!

Anyway, If the neck on the UV is good (ie if that is in good non damaged state, and seeing as that is the part you'll be playing) then i'#d get the UV any day as 800 is a really good price in euros for one as I'd expect one in good condition to go for +/- 1000-1200 euros.. I'd need to see pictures though, but I do think the UV's have excellent necks, and are worth buying for that alone!

I'd really have to see the pictures to be able to tell... And since the pictures are gone...

Sorry, the link doesn´t work, because i need 15 posts to post links of other sites. I´ll try something like this.

es.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/jrberea/album?.dir=61e0&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//es.photos.yahoo.com/ph//my_photos+
You only have to put http: in front of it.
Soory, but I can´t do anything.
Thank you

UV doesn't look to bad. it's got less damage than mine has. As long as the neck is good, then it should be cool. You can easily get rid of the pickups on ebay and buy replacement ones, in green, for the price you sell them for from erics guitars. I'd do it, seems like a good price, and the playability of the UV is normally a class above that of the RG. Necks are nicer in muy opinion.

If you want a player, get the UV and restore it.

Hi behemoth,

I agree, I think the UV after restoration (at least visually) will always hold it's value longer than the 1527. And he's right about the neck too, the necks on UV's are really more comfortable.
The condition of that UV is about the same as mine - lots of character. One thing to look out for on old UV's is the inside edge of the neck pocket on the body, right at the spot where there is a 90 degree cut. Check if you see a hairline crack in the body there, as Ibanez's are prone to stress cracks at that spot.
If you like the sound of the existing pickups, but would like to restore the green look without buying all new pickups, I would contact www.universaljems.com and check out their 'BobbinToppers' in various colors, including florescent green in 7 string. I just got some for another project, and they're way cheaper (by a long shot) than the other pickguard place you'll find the same item at.
Choices are tough - good luck.
