Are we still able to edit out posts?

Yes. The edit link is under your post to the left (see the red box in the pic below).

Yes, it's to the bottom left of your post (see the red box in the pic below).

Its not there for me, im on a mobile device (Android) if that makes a difference?

*edit* ok weird I can obviously edit this post. Im wondering if it has anything to do with likes? It seems I cant edit my posts that have likes? I believe the old site if you edited your post you lost all the likes...maybe the new site you just cant edit at all after its been liked?
*edit again* Nope I cant edit my post from yesterday either...maybe its just a shorter edit time window?

^ In the old site (and I am assuming it's the same with this one), you couldn't edit your posts after 24 hours. (Or was it 48? I can't remember exactly, but I'm leaning towards 24.)

Also, in the old site, you didn't lose likes for editing a post. If you refreshed the page after editing, you'd see the likes there once again. I don't think anything would happen to a liked post on the new site either, but can't confirm as I haven't done it.

Another thing I've noticed is that people aren't using the Like button as much as before, including myself. I just kinda forget it's there, since it's quite small now.

The edit window must just be alot shorter now (much shorter than 24 hours) because I cant edit my earlier post in this thread anymore.

*edit* but I can edit this one

Ah, you're right. I lost the edit button on my previous post here, roughly 3 hours ago. Granted, there was a date change since 3 hours ago, (it is now 01:40 AM where I am) so it could be that, too.

But yeah, it'd be nice to know what the window is.

I second this. I can't find it.

The inability to edit posts is really weird. Is that intentional?

You can still edit posts, as always the function disappears after a period of time; the button is underneath the post to the left.

Yeah, that's what I mean. Why does it just disappear? That is like if the toilet paper roll retracted into the wall if I didn't use it in time.

It's supposed to disappear after 2 - 3 days.

For me it disappears instantly. That isn't right.

EDIT: My edit is still here now?

Hmm, I'll test a theory with this post then. I wonder if its related to once you leave a thread that the edit disappears? I don't think mines ever gone away that quick.

Edit: 25 mins and it still works, so it may be a case by case problem. I'll check back every so often over the next day and see if it still lets me

IIRC the edit timer was first brought in by Chris when he owned the site. I believe a certain member started to delete every post he had ever made and it caused issues. One of the reasons I originally became a Mod was so I could have ongoing editing power in the Guitar Of The Month threads.

Been having issues with the "Stay logged in" feature. It last maybe 2 hours tops.

I'm having issues with the stay logged in as well. I've had it keep me logged in for a day with no problems, but then 2 or 3 times recently it seems to have logged me out while just navigating through pages. One instance happened yesterday. I had just logged in, went to my PM's/Conversations, typed my reply, and upon hitting send, I was logged out and informed I needed to be logged in to send messages. Logged back in and sent it fine, but I don't think that should have happened.

Does anyone know the time frame the stay logged in option is supposed to be valid for?

Notification emails should contain the contents of the new post that way I know if something actually requires my attention.

I think this feature might be working now. :yesway:

edit: nvm, I'm dumb. It works with conversations, but not the latest thread post.

Bumping this neglected thread. Another odd issue I experience is whenever I get the notification email and click the 'View this thread' or 'View this conversation' link in the email. It takes me to the thread but I will not be logged in. With the conversations, it just takes me straight to an error page that says you must be logged in to do that.

I'm guessing it has something to do with the 'https://mandrillapp.com/track/click/...' thing not being able to get the browsers cached info about currently validated credentials for the session. I have this issue on Chrome and IceCat/Firefox.

I dunno if it counts as a "new site issue" but the bunch of spam posts lately is pretty annoying. Sorry for beating the dead horse, I realize there's a bunch of threads about it already.

Here is a new one...the Search function hasn't been working for a few days.
