EDIT: new version of test track. added bass to this with the bass plug-in called ghettobass. thing works realllllly well. i removed the old bass tracks seeing as they just weren't cutting it.

how the hell do i do that? lol im new as hell to actually being able to e.q. each individual drum sound and cymbal. i used to use hydrogen and in that all you can do is alter the velocity and thats about it.

Yea, I can definitely here the difference between both mixes dude. Thanks again, that actually helped me a lot, now all I have to do is tighten up my guitar tracks a little and soon I can post some tunes!

sounds cool, see if you can drop the level of the kick in the ambient mics, i personnaly prefer more snare than anything else followed by cymbals then toms then kick (in terms of send level to the ambient mics). Guitars need to be higher in the mix, try double tracking rhythm gits left and right and also try putting a bit of compression on L and R, with a pretty big (not massive) attack time, like 30-50ms at a 4:1 ratio, this might just emphasise the trasient of each chug give it a bit more punch, make sure the release time is about the same or maybe 100ms.

ok so for the clip i have about 12 tracks going. drums are set in the center except for individual panning (cymbal placement on kit) both guitar tracks i have the left guitar duplicated and set at 70l and 40l and the right guitar is duplicated 70r and 40r. the right guitar has more mids and the left is more highs. i have about 3 bass tracks set at 30l center and 30r. lopass on all bass tracks. lead thingy i got going i did two different takes and each take is set at 10l and 10r. i also added 2 tracks of guitar with a tone mainly consisting of mids since i felt the who clip was a little lacking in the midrange. those are panned 40l and 40r.still need to do some more tweeking to attack and the amb mics and such. gonna be going back in today and adding some compressioin hoping it will make everything tighter. fion thanks for the advice. definitly taken with confidence. drew thanks for the help and everything. advice taken with confidence as well. Brian cant wait for some tunes. and tre figured out how to make things so its not autoplay. sorry for waken people up and getting you yelled at and shit.

Did you just duplicate the guitar tracks or did you actually track them 4 separate times? I'm asking because I know that it will help if you actually track them separately instead of just copying them.

Also I got a free day ahead of me so I am gonna try and get something done and up by tonight or tomorrow afternoon at the latest.

i just copied them. i wrote the whole thing in like 10-15 minutes.the frist guitar take i did i copied it once. then the right guitar track i did that one the copied it. same with the tracks of mostly mids. i just copied it.i did about three guitar tracks each individual takes then copied them. plus i reallly liked how the 70 and 40 pan works out. makes everything sound alot more full. id say try it. im not sure if alot of people do it or not but it sounds good.

Try tracking them separately instead of copying them, it helps give the guitars a fuller sound in the mix.

I suggest bringing down the mud on the kick down a tad, and a little extra bite on the guitars. Personally I'd throw some reverb on the lead too for a fuller/epic sound.
