So, it may or may not be common knowledge, but, just to let you know, I have a HUGE package.

CIMG0860.jpg

I get to work slicing the obscene amount of tape. This thing was packed like a tank.

Poochie, what do your puppy eyes see?

CIMG0864.jpg

OMFG BUBBLE WRAP WTFBBQ!!11!1one

CIMG0865.jpg

Let's get this big ass whore of a motherfucker out of this big fucking box.

CIMG0866.jpg

HOLY FUCK COME ON YOU STUPID WHORE.

CIMG0867.jpg

CIMG0869.jpg

I take a break, and my woman snaps a pic of my crotch.

CIMG0870.jpg

PONGO HELP ME

CIMG0871.jpg

I'm worn out, and I cut my hand getting it out of the box :(

CIMG0872.jpg

There was a smaller package inside the bigger package. There's a snoodling joke in there somewhere.

CIMG0873.jpg

CIMG0874.jpg

Wrapped up nicely. This dude knows how to pack shit.

CASTERS FTMFW

CIMG0876.jpg

I snagged a deal on a VHT Fatbottom slant 4x12 with P50E's.

CIMG0877.jpg

CIMG0878.jpg

A lot brighter than my previous cab, but overall I dig it. Definitely got my rig closer to the Pittbull sound.

Next up, we have a small, child size coffin here. What could it be?

CIMG0879.jpg

I take the plastic off it and start to open it up.

CIMG0880.jpg

CIMG0881.jpg

ZOMFG one of my KxK's is here! Rob form fitted a bass Coffin Case to it, and did an impressive job. He also protected the horns for shipping.

CIMG0882.jpg

Here's what it looks like in my stand.

CIMG0883.jpg

Close up of the AMAZING fucking inlay. I swear, pics will not do this justice. You really have to see this in person to fully comprehend how fucking awesome the inlay looks, and how fucking awesomely it's done.

CIMG0886.jpg

Already full of fingerprints  Also, any lines you see aren't scratches, they're hair of mine that got caught on hardware and shit and got ripped out. Ouch.

CIMG0887.jpg

CIMG0888.jpg

The back is off from me setting it up with Elixirs and in Bb tuning.

CIMG0889.jpg

CIMG0890.jpg

Rob's volute is fucking awesome too. I dig the way my thumb sits in it when I'm playing in the lower registers.

CIMG0891.jpg

CIMG0892.jpg

I don't know what the side dots are, MOP I think?

CIMG0893.jpg

CIMG0894.jpg

Also, the masking job for the pinstriping is fucking clean as fuck.

CIMG0895.jpg

First impressions: Holy fuck. The specs are as follows:

Maple neck through
Mahogany wings
27" scale length
Ceramic BKP Warpigs courtesy of the Axe Palace
OFR7
Thick neck profile, Hellraiser thick
Ebony fretboard
Stainless steel frets
Sigil of Asmodei for the inlay from fret 11-13
Painted neck because I like that

When I received it, the action was high for my liking. I removed the trem, and the nut, and took the shim out. To my surprise, it was a really nicely shaped piece of ebony. Rob offered to send me a smaller shim, but I said fuck it, took some double sided tape and taped some fine grit sand paper to a box and went to town. Sits a lot better now. Also, I moved the strap pin. I tried out a leather strap to see if it would help with the neck dive, and it did a little, but not as much as was needed. I put it on the heel around fret 21, pretty much at the start of the flat part that is where it starts to blend (I suck at describing shit). This fixed it. There will be no more neck dive issues. To all the people who said they'd rather see the inline headstock on this, I guarantee you, you don't want it. This is on fault of Rob's obviously as every X shape guitar has neck dive issues until you fuck with the strap pin to find which spot is best for you. I'm a small dude, so it sits differently on me since I don't have super broad shoulders

I have to say, the Warpigs are probably my new favorite pickup (for this configuration of specs). They are incredibly tight, hot (but still with nice cleans) and articulate. They are also quiet as fuck, like I'm talking EMG quiet.

I can't get over how awesome this guitar is. It looks bad ass, sounds bad ass, and plays flawlessly after I set it up to my spec, which is nothing against Rob, it arrived in tune and everything, but everyone likes their shit different.

I'd like to thank Noodles for being a middle man between me and Rob, and getting answers for me when I was too timid to contact Rob directly

The guitar has been a long time in the making, and I'm definitely pleased with the results. I don't really know what else to say about it. The body is not NEARLY as big as pics make it look to be. I was actually kind of surprised. It doesn't weigh too much either. The battery box is routed there because originally I had wanted SD Blackouts, but changed my mind. Oh well, can always throw piezo's in it later or something

I will need to order a custom case though I think. While Rob did a kick ass job on the coffin case and it would pain me to not use it, unfortunately it literally does not fit in my back seat. I have to angle it in so it covers the entire width of the car, and sit it up  I was thinking of getting one of those Scott Dixon cases when I feel like dropping $350 + shipping from the UK on a case  In the meantime I do have a form fitted case for it.

Here's a shot of it in action:

GOTM, seriously bad as fuk.

Did you design the shape? If you don't mind my asking, how much did it cost and what was the build time? I'm asking 'cause I've got an idea of a slightly similar shape, loosely based off of a Wasburn 20-V, and I would ultimatley like to have KxK make it. I know the prices have gone up since I got my ST for $1,300 in 2005!

You're looking at quite a bit for a custom shape  Seriously though, you would have to speak to Rob for that kind of stuff. I waited a while, but there were multiple delays in getting mine out to me, a lot of crap in the finishing process. If you talk to Rob I'm sure he could tell you straight up.

It's brighter and a lot tighter than any cab I've had before. I definitely dig it. I'm just debating selling my front loaded Lopoline, or loading it with P50E's and running a stereo rig

They seem okay to me  I don't have a lot of experience with other cabs so it's hard for me to say. I've tried my rig through like 4-5 cabs, my front loaded Lopoline with Eminence Lil' Texas, CentaurPorn's Fatbottom 2x12, my undersized Marshall Valvestate 4x12, and Centaur's old Orange, although I may not have tried this exact rig through that.

My Lopoline is nice, but I don't think I dig the Lil' Texas speakers. It just seems like there's a certain chunk that isn't there for rhythm. I dug Centaur's VHT 2x12, so that's why I got this. Had a nice chunk to it, and was tight. My Valvestate 4x12 is shit  I mean, it's not bad if you just want a small 4x12 to move around, and the speakers work, so it's a functioning cab  But it has a super honky midrange to it. I dug the shit out of Centaur's old Orange and had planned to order a slant 4x12 in black, but I dug his VHT cab too, and then that dude posted one here for a good deal so I grabbed it.
