Hey guys! So Im posting this 4 days late because I've been stupid busy with work and school :ugh: BUUUUUTTTTTTT!!!! Here's a thread for my new ESP/LTD FH-408!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I found this beaut on the local craigslist and traded a mint Dean Razorback V. Everything is stock, except for the upgraded EMG 808X's which I may change out to d-activators but at the moment they sound pretty killer, and sand down the neck to bare wood and add a satin finish on it so it feels more like my Ibby's! And now for guitar porn :agreed:

Edit: For some reason SS.org wont upload the pics directly but theres a link for you guys

looks good, how is the 25.5" scale, doesnt feel too loose on the strings?

Nope quite the contrary! Before I set it up and put new strings it felt a little floppy on the low E, but I put the following gauges low to high: 80-66-46-36-26-17-13-10 And the tension feels great
The low strings are tight enough for a solid feel and tone and the higher strings balance pretty well

I think for now Im just gonna stick with the actives. For recording purposes they're awesome but maybe once I start using it live I'll switch just to see the real difference

Very pretty. I'm biased, as I own three.

Having done both actives and passives, for my purposes I don't think I'll be getting another passive ERG if I can help it.

3, eh? What are you tuning them to?

I've wanted to try one of these, just to see what the standard scale is like on an 8-string. Its presumably quite nice with the right strings.

It's pretty nice considering the fact that the adjustment period doesn't take as long so that was a plus for me. And with the right string gauges it feels great man
