Yesterday I picked up this little cracker from a friend on a (hopefully) long-term loan as he isn't playing it enough at the moment to have it around.
It's a Westbury Standard (Matsumoku, I believe), with a weighty slab of mahogany as a body, set neck, DiMarzio PAF and SD H/Bs, and incredibly for its age only a couple of small nicks in the paintwork and no marks at all on the back.
Only had a short blast through my Roland Cube so far, but he indications are good - the neck is smooth (even though I'm not the biggest fan of painted necks), and the pickups just have incredible output and power.
The sustain is awesome (bordering on Nigel Tufnel proportions), and the temptation to squeal out artificial harmonics when you're wailing on the SD is almost overwhelming.
On to the pictures!
