Hey guys! I lurk here quite a bit but recently decided to join the ERG community. I will let the pics do the talking.

Soundclip! Spent 15 minutes tops working on this so try not to judge it too hard haha. I know it's pretty awful.

Glad to see another Agile 8 stringer in Boston. I go to Wentworth in the Fenway right down the street haha.

Thanks guys!

crg123: You should stop by Berklee sometime. I know of at least 3 other 8 string guys here this year haha :)

Congrats! That JP7 is particularly hot. Also you look scarily like Olly from Monuments.

How do you get along with those two different guitars? I mean there should be a huge difference between the jp7 and the agile in terms of quality.

I never even checked that out before you're so right haha. Just need to grow my hair out a little more :p

As far as setup and playability goes... it's so hard to describe because they're such different beasts. When the agile first came, it was set up amazingly with the crappiest strings I had ever felt in my life. I put Daddario EXL111's on with a 60 and 80 for standard tuning (10 - 13.5 - 17 - 24 - 34 - 46 - 60 - 80) E - F#. This improved the feel and tone considerably. I have 11's on my JP7 and the 10's on the 28" scale are honestly so much stiffer. Maybe not in terms of shredding as much as bending, the 11's on the JP7 feel like spaghetti comparatively.

The finish on the agile wasn't exactly the best, some bumps here and there on the neck and body. The neck pickup sounded fine but the bridge pickup sounded like garbage, so I brought it much closer to the strings and now it's fine. Nothing with regards to action or intonation really needed changed. The new set of strings and pickup height adjustment made it pretty spot on. Also, the 80 fit through the tuner fine, no drilling/string unwinding required.

To try to compare it to the JP7 is like... trying to compare a rock to a finely tuned and sharpened blade. They'll both kill people when you play 2,000,000 notes per second on them just fine (and it's perfectly possible to do this on the agile, the action is great), but the JP7 is like butter and the agile remains a rock or something else blunt and large. I love them both honestly. I don't think I could have bought a better guitar for $600 than the agile, but the JP7 is in a class of its own.

TL;DR, Agile kills people like a rock, JP7 kills people like a sword.

EDIT: I can also throw some more pics of the JP7 up tomorrow if I get the time. It seems to be popular haha.

Your GF is playing a chord with 4 finger, each on a separate string, you however, are using 4 fingers and fretting the same string twice, with two different fingers..
CMON BRO GET IT TOGETHER! :nono:

Sick guitars though!!
