Well.
Just got lucky and receive this sweet thing for trade.

- Seymour Duncan Blackout Active Pickups phase I
- Custom-made black anodized aluminum pickup rings for the SD Blackouts - makes the guitar ultra-clean and classy
- Carvin Floyd Rose 7-String Double-Locking Tremelo
- Eastern Hard Rock Maple Neck (through-body design) with no inlays (side dots only)
- Bookmatched Mahogany Top and Body
- Matching Bookmatched Mahogany Headstock
- Stainless Steel Jumbo Frets (6100)
- 14" Radius Ebony Fretboard for Insane Bending
- Individual volume and tone controls for each pickup, and three mini-kill-switches (one for each pickup and one master kill-switch)

Forgive me for being ignorant, but what exactly does a phase switch do?

And happy NGD!

You know that Star Trek episode where Geordi accidentally reversed the polarity on the transporter beam causing him and Deanna Troi to go "out of phase" so they could pass through solid objects without falling through the floor? Yeah, that's what a phase switch does on a guitar. It reverses the polarity on one of the pickups giving you a thin, mid-y sound that passes through solid mixes.

Edit: My wife said it was Ensign Ro, not Deanna Troi. Oops.

Welcome to the Carvin club! :hbang: Nice 727 - very nice looking natural finish. Yes, stainless steel frets are one of the great reasons to go the Carvin route - I have them on all three of my Carvins and it's hard to consider buying a guitar without them now. Enjoy!

Nice and simple yet deadly.

You could always put a finish on the guitar and get rid of all those switches and knobs at the same time? Wouldn't take much to do it if you plan on keeping her a while.

It makes me sad that new Carvins cost so much in your area of the world :wallbash:
