So this is a long time coming!
First, extra special thanks to djohns74! This is one great dude. He is very skilled, open minded, patient, understanding and communicative.
This speaking and it's a journey into 27 inch scale conversion necks. I have been wanting a long scales 7 string for a long time. I had traded off my Schecter with a 26.5 and missed the long strings! I had found an awesome piece of Cocobolo that I had to use. I basically shipped it to Dave and asked if he could use it. As we talked about details it became clear that this was going to be much more than just a neck to slap on some Ibanez.
We found more wood and planned a body.. This was going to be a 27-from-the-startcustom custom build. The caveat? I was going to finish and assemble it.
I gptta hand it to Dave- to just consign the body and neck and send them to me knowing full well that I could completely screw them up took an intestinal fortitude that lesser man lack.
Anyone who has the opportunity to work with him is fortunate indeed.
Thanks Dave!

Anyway this axe plays as good as it looks .. and it sounds amazing. Low, lush, full, sparkly, raw, from soft and full to airy or wirey to all out tearing itself apart.
I have to just go be stoked now.
I'll be back later.
Thanks dudes.
