NGD - Custom Explorer

Super excited with how this turned out! I had this concept in mind, reached out to a local SoCal luthier (he does a lot of Explorers) for a build and coordinated the design and pyrography with Dino Muradian. Just picked it up this weekend, looks and plays incredible.

Specs:
Custom Explorer - Aztec Sunstone
Flame Maple top, headstock veneer and cavity cover
White Limba body and neck
Ebony fretboard
EVO Gold frets
Gold MoP custom "Eclipse" inlay, side dots, headstock logo
Lundgren M7 set
Gold hardware
Pyrography on top, headstock (front/rear), cavity cover - Aztec Sunstone over Tzompantli (skull rack)
Dark grain filler on the body and neck, satin finish all over

Not gonna lie, my first thought was "It's a bit too over the top".

But after looking at all the pictures and seeing the complete guitar I love it. That ecplise inlay looks awesome. And especially in combination with that gold hardware and the shiny evo gold frets it looks absolutely stunning.

As a big Explorer fan I’m always excited to see something different than the usual black/white/natural finishes. This is just amazing. Very cool theme/idea and you got someone to execute it perfectly. This is really awesome. Thanks for sharing!

Awesome. On the back of the headstock, where the wrench holder for a floyd might be on a Kramer for instance, you gotta mount a holder for an Aztec Death Whistle \m/
