Hey all, this gem just arrived today. Little backstory, I'm going to be proposing to my girlfriend of 4 years this fall and I decided to try something a little less classic for the proposal. She absolutely loves the natural look on guitars (I like the crazy colors). So I had carvin build this guitar, with the truss cover engraved "Tangled up in you". My plan, place the ring so the strings go through the finger hole and holds it upright near the trussrod cover. And when she opens the case... BAM! But obviously here you all don't care about that, you just want pictures and specs:lol:
Carvin DC600, spalted maple top; 5pc neck walnut support; passive pickups; gold hardware; ebony neck with no fret markers.
Overall it plays beautifully, just like my DC800. I was surprised how well the pickups sounded, very full sounding. I'll let ya'll know when she says yes. Cheers.

what a gorgeous top and headstock veneer. I bet you look at that thing for like an hour before even playing it. the back looks out of this world too. I am an ibanez man but I am deffinatley going to get a carvin the quality and craftsmanship is just stone cold fuck nuts.

Haha thanks all! Technically the guitar is hers but my guess is that I will be making the most of it. She has that mentality to learn everything and guitar is no exception. If there was anything I'd change it would be the bridge saddles, they're silver! They should be gold to match the rest. If anyone has a link to send where to get those I am all ears. I love the guitar so far and I love the sound I'm getting from it. I'm currently working on a song to have played during the proposal. Of course you will all be involved haha. Again thank you all for the kind wishes and the plethora of information you have all taught me. It has nothing but made me a better musician, composer and artist. I can't thank this forum enough. Cheers.

That finish looks amazing and I bet she will be happy.

When you give her the ring/guitar take some time to arrange the guitar and ring just right so it picks up your house light. Find the spot where it is the brightest and have her stand in that exact spot when you open it, allow for height differences..

You got one shot so do it right!!

That is such a good spalted top. My preferences had changed somewhat - I was leaning more towards bright solid colors and traditional bursts - but screw them. Now I want spalted maple stuff again.

Wow that is such a cool idea! You picked a good one if she can get into guitars! And the Carvin isn't too shabby either!
